Case 14 - Wild Orchard Guest Farm

This is a beautiful guest farm on an isolated road in Deerfield. The owner of the house dates it from the 1740's. Although she, and guests had felt a presence, they were not threatened by it, and just wanted to know what, if anything, was there.

Ghost Quest was excited about going to this lovely place and were not disappointed either by the farm itself or the ghosts within. Raven, Tammy and PJ did the first walk through. Raven first picked up on an old woman in the kitchen. She and her husband is both still ghostly residents of the home along with their two sons. This woman cooks quite a bit and during our investigation the smell of fried fish permeated the place. We validated that no one had been cooking that day let alone cooking fish. This a very gentle family and not intrusive. Next she picked up on the two young boys. They are mischievous in the house. As soon as she walked into what was once their room, she began to walk in a circle explaining that this is what they do to people who come in to the farm. Beckah, during her walk through did the exact same thing, and people sometimes experience this as a feeling of slight dizziness in the room.

As they moved up into the room both Raven and Beckah picked up on a young girl who was connected to the couple upstairs, The mediums felt she helped out and that she was waiting for a lost love. Raven went upstairs to the attic. The heat was formidable. She instantly felt the presence of Richard. He owned the house later in time than the couple downstairs. He lived here with his wife, who died in childbirth, and his young daughter and son, all still in residence. After Raven's walk through it was Beckah's turn.

Beckah also picked up on the old woman and her husband. She felt he was very proud of his place and he was the builder of it. She also was contacted by the two boys. She went through and finally heading upstairs got in touch with Richard. Downstairs she got in touch with Richards wife and saw her as overseeing everything. It is important to note that all of these spirits, though somewhat active within the house, are not negative. We did asked if any of them would like help crossing over and all refused. The only grounded spirit is Richard.

The vigils began. Beckah, Katie and PJ went up to the attic while Raven, Tammy and Paul went into the boys room. The glass divination that Raven's group did went well, but no new information was added to what we already knew. Beckah's group yielded much better results as Richard was in his most active spot. Knocks and raps abound and Richard answered every question. He is here because he wasn't to be, he does not want to talk about his wife and he wanted us to leave. All were pleased with the vigils and when we packed it up we went happily on our way with another successful investigation under our belt.

Note: There was a temperature fluctuation during the beginning base temperature readings. In the downstairs dining room a jump of almost thirty degrees took place. Their were no other anomalies recorded.
